Created by Ms. Penny, a preschool teacher with 25 years of experience and over 300 successful students, Promise to Read has helped many young learners become above average readers—often before kindergarten. Ms. Penny developed her decoding technique after studying the science of reading, continuing her education, and observing how children learn to read. Ms. Penny also tutored many students over a span of 20 years during the summers, and all of them started the new school year either on level or above level after tutoring with “Promise to Read”. This method is different from typical school curriculums, offering a kid-friendly, relatable, and fun approach. Its simplicity makes it easy to learn quickly, and after completing the program, most students develop a lifelong love of reading.
